Taiwan’s screw orders expected to rise slightly as US rate hike concerns ease

17 Aug 2026 12:23 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwanese screw manufacturers anticipate slight order growth and stable pricing this week, supported by easing US rate hike concerns and rising coking coal and iron ore costs, despite continued strong currency trends and weak demand during European and American summer holidays.

External market conditions showed the local currency appreciating for three straight weeks, driven by foreign capital inflows into domestic stocks, while Chinese wire rod prices remained weak. Overseas demand stayed sluggish, with small screws and nuts experiencing poor orders, bolts performing moderately, automotive fasteners remaining steady, and aerospace fasteners showing favorable results.

International indicators reflected cooling US consumer and producer price inflation, reducing Federal Reserve September rate hike probabilities, and improving investor confidence across the Eurozone.
