Taiwan’s fastener exports recorded a month-on-month rebound in March, though overall performance remained pressured by a high base last year and weak global demand, resulting in a notable year-on-year decline.

According to customs data, export volume reached 95.99 million kg, down 21.46% year-on-year, while export value totaled US$352 million, decreasing by 15.67%. Compared with February, however, volume increased by 5.36%, and value rose by 4.66%, indicating short-term replenishment demand.

Exports of major items, including bolts, nuts, self-tapping screws, and wood screws, all decreased. However, copper fasteners saw unit prices rise by over 20% year-on-year.
