China Steel Corporation (CSC), a leading carbon steel producer in Taiwan, announced that all domestic monthly flat product prices for September will remain unchanged across products including hot-rolled steel plates and coils, cold-rolled coils, electro-galvanized coils, hot-dip galvanized coils, and electrical steel coils. The decision aims to stabilize market confidence and assist downstream customers through a current adjustment period as international prices approach a bottom.

Global economic conditions show mixed trends, with resilient growth in the United States, manufacturing pressure in Europe due to energy costs, and sluggish steel demand in China driven by property sector challenges. Conversely, Taiwan experiences strong export performance in AI and high-tech sectors despite flat traditional industries.

Meanwhile, steelmaking costs remain supported by high oil prices, iron ore trading between US$90 and US$100 per ton, and metallurgical coal hovering around US$210 to US$220. International steel markets reflect strong trade-barrier-driven prices in America and Europe, Chinese steel production cuts, and narrowing price drops in Vietnam.
