SunCoke Energy completes $325 million acquisition of Phoenix Global

SunCoke Energy, Inc. (SunCoke), a US-based producer of high-quality coke, has completed its previously announced US$325 million acquisition of Phoenix Global (Phoenix), a metals and mining services provider, on August 1, 2025.

The transaction, funded with cash and existing credit, adds electric arc furnace operations and international markets to SunCoke's business.

Katherine T. Gates, SunCoke's President and CEO, said the acquisition is a result of the company's disciplined pursuit of growth opportunities. She stated that adding Phoenix's assets will allow SunCoke to reach new customers and markets, leveraging its advanced technology and operational strengths for future earnings growth.
