South Korea starts AD investigation on China’s steel bars and rods

The Korea Trade Commission (KTC) launched an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into bars and rods of steel from China, following petitions filed by SeAH Besteel and SeAH Changwon Special Steel. The authority seeks to determine if these imports harmed domestic producers from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, with a specific focus on pricing throughout 2025.

The case covers rolled or forged alloy steel bar and rod products, excluding iron, carbon, and stainless steel. These subject goods are under HS codes 7214.10.0000, 7214.30.0000, 7214.91.0000, 7214.99.1000, 7214.99.9000, 7215.10.0000, 7215.50.0000, 7215.90.0000, 7228.10.0000, 7228.20.0000, 7228.30.1000, 7228.30.9000, 7228.40.1000, 7228.40.9000, 7228.50.0000, and 7228.60.9000.

A preliminary ruling is expected within three months. However, the government retains the option to extend this timeline by up to two months if necessary.
