The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan signed a resolution on February 18, 2026, extending the temporary export ban on ferrous scrap and waste for another six months.

This restriction applies to all materials under EAEU TN VED code 7204, including scrap, waste, and ferrous metal ingots intended for remelting.

This measure continues a policy originally established in September last year to stabilize the domestic market. By restricting exports beyond the Eurasian Economic Union, the government intends to secure essential raw materials for local metallurgical plants and meet the internal demand for secondary scrap.

The extension ensures that domestic enterprises maintain access to high-quality supplies necessary for production.
