JSW Steel posts Q1 crude steel production growth

14 Jul 2026 16:23 reported by Joy Liu

JSW Steel reported a 3% year-on-year increase in consolidated crude steel production, reaching 6.59 million tons for the June quarter. This output includes 6.35 million tons from Indian operations and 240,000 tons from its Ohio unit in the United States.

A lengthy maintenance shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 at the Vijayanagar plant limited overall growth. Without this disruption, production volumes grew by around 15%, aided by a full ramp-up of JVML operations and improved capacity utilization at the Dolvi facility. Domestic operations maintained a 94% capacity utilization rate during the quarter.

The quarterly comparison excludes the steel division of Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd. (BPSL), which was transferred to JSW-JFE Steel Ltd. in March 2026.
