JSW Steel posts 15% y-o-y growth in May crude steel output

11 Jun 2026 16:10 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
JSW Steel reported a 15% year-on-year increase in consolidated crude steel production for May, reaching 2.29 million tons. This expansion materialized because of full operations at its Dolvi facility, which experienced planned maintenance in the previous year, and the complete ramp-up at JVML.

The production in India domestically rose to 2.19 million tons from 1.9 million tons, while output at its US plant in Ohio climbed by 20% to 950,000 tons.

This production increase occurred despite the ongoing shutdown of Blast Furnace No.3 at the Vijayanagar facility for capacity expansion. Excluding this inactive furnace, capacity utilization at the domestic operations reached approximately 98%.
