Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has won a 50-year lease for the Roida-I iron ore and manganese block in Odisha, strengthening its raw material base.

The 104.84-hectare site will play a key role in enhancing JSPL’s supply security and supporting its integrated, self-reliant steel production strategy in India’s mineral-rich east.

The company received a letter of intent from the Odisha government after emerging as the preferred bidder in the June 6, 2025 auction.

JSPL emphasized that the lease will improve operational stability, reduce costs, and align with its long-term growth plans. The move reflects JSPL’s commitment to sustainable and efficient resource development.
