Jindal Stainless reports profit rise despite supply disruptions

4 Aug 2026 16:46 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Jindal Stainless, India’s top stainless steel manufacturer, posted a 7.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 769 crore for the first quarter of financial year 2027, driven by higher realizations and a richer product mix. Revenue from operations grew by 10.5% to Rs 11,279 crore.

However, finished goods sales volumes dropped by 7.3% to about 580,800 tons because industrial gas shortages caused by geopolitical conflict restricted production and lowered capacity utilization to 68-70%.

The company said that domestic demand stayed healthy and retained the annual volume growth guidance of 7-9%. It also plans to offset reduced European exports by targeting alternative markets like Japan and Brazil.
