Jindal Stainless, a leading stainless steel manufacturer in India, has commissioned a solar power plant, comprising a 7.324 MWp floating solar plant and a 23.02 MWp rooftop solar system, at its Jajpur, Odisha unit under a cooperation with AB Energia Solutions.

The plant is expected to generate about 44.3 million units of green power per year. This will significantly reduce the Jajpur unit’s reliance on traditional electricity. The plant’s capacity is equivalent to powering 12,000-15,000 households or reducing 32,208 tons of CO2 emissions yearly.

Jindal Stainless aims to lead sustainable steel manufacturing in India, in line with the growing global demand for low-carbon green steel.
