India extended anti-dumping (AD) duties on seamless tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel from China until January 27, 2027. The extension was granted to give the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) enough time to complete the sunset review initiated in March to evaluate if terminating the measures would renew dumping and harm domestic industries.

Domestic producers Jindal Saw Limited, Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited, and Maharashtra Seamless Limited requested the continuation. They said that Chinese dumped imports persist despite existing duties, and requested higher tax rates. However, applicants proposed excluding oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from the probe because removing tariffs on them is unlikely to cause dumping injury.

First imposed in 2017 and prolonged for five years in 2021, the duties were originally set to expire on October 27, 2026.

The review covers seamless tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles of iron, alloy, or non-alloy steel, with an external diameter not exceeding 355.6 mm. These products are under tariff heading 7304.
