The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam announced on July 4 the completion of its anti-dumping (AD) investigation on hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports from India. The probe, launched in July 2024, concluded that India-origin HRC is exempt from AD duties.

Vietnamese authorities determined that the volume of HRC imported from India during the investigation period was insignificant, accounting for less than 3% of Vietnam's total imports.

AD duties ranging from 23.10% to 27.83% will be imposed on Chinese HRC for five years starting on July 6, while Indian HRC shipments will not face AD measures.

The product scope of the investigation included both alloyed and non-alloyed HRC products with a thickness of 1.2 mm-25.4 mm and a width not exceeding 1,880 mm.
