A A A
Hydnum Steel, a steel manufacturer in Spain, has secured EUR 60 million in Spanish government funding to build southern Europe's first green steel plant in Puertollano, Spain.

This project, financed by the EU's Next Generation EU program, is in line with Spain’s goals for reindustrialization, as well as Europe’s strategic autonomy and climate neutrality, a significant step for sustainable flat steel production.

The company has already secured the sale of 75% of its output through strategic agreements with major industrial players, including Gonvarri Industries, Thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, and Knauf Interfer. The project has been declared a Priority Project by the government of Castilla-La Mancha and is recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the five major global projects for industrial decarbonization.
