Hoa Phat expands rooftop solar at Dung Quat steel complex

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC has started the second phase of its 79.2 MWp solar initiative in Vietnam. Partnering with Horus Power, the plant is now installing 22.5 MWp of capacity across its rolling mills and warehouses.

Once the entire VND 600 billion project finishes in the second quarter of 2027, it will generate 115 million kWh of clean electricity annually, cutting CO2 emissions by 78,000 tons.

This green energy expansion helps the company meet about 90% of its power needs internally while improving competitiveness in the EU market. The project uses high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar panels to ensure a stable supply for Southeast Asia's largest steel producer. This move builds on a successful 5 MWp first phase completed in November 2025.
