GravitHy has signed an agreement with Danieli to advance the construction of its direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in Fos-sur-Mer, France. 

The facility will use Energiron technology and is designed to produce up to 2 million tons of hot briquetted iron (HBI) annually. Operating with 100% hydrogen as the reducing agent, the plant aims to supply low-carbon iron to European steelmakers. 

The agreement supports the project's front-end engineering design (FEED) and helps reduce risks ahead of the planned final investment decision in 2027. 

The company emphasized that strong carbon pricing and supportive policies will be essential alongside advanced technology to accelerate Europe's industrial transition.
