APM Terminals is finalizing preparations to launch a new gateway facility at the Port of Suape in Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil. The US$350 million investment introduces the first fully electrified container terminal in Latin America, designed to expand the port complex's handling capacity by 55%.

The terminal will initially manage up to 400,000 TEUs per year. APM Terminals expects this advanced facility to improve regional logistics competitiveness and link Pernambuco to core markets across Latin America, North America, Europe, and Asia.

This infrastructure asset is the company's second major terminal in northeastern Brazil. It joins a sister facility at the Port of Pecém in Ceará, which has operated for over twenty years.
