Fives Group has signed a contract with Hyundai Steel and POSCO to supply advanced coil finishing lines for a new steel plant in Louisiana, U.S. The $5.82 billion facility will produce 2.7 million tons of low-carbon steel annually, with 70% dedicated to automotive-grade applications.

Hyundai Steel said the project aims to strengthen the local automotive steel supply chain in North America. Fives will provide coil handling solutions, having recently delivered similar projects in the U.S., Mexico, and China. The plant marks a strategic step to deepen its presence in the U.S. automotive steel market through localized production.
