Federacciai: Italy’s crude steel output rises in May y-o-y

According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italy’s crude steel production amounted to 2 million tons in May, rising by 3.7% compared to the same month a year earlier.

During the period, the output of Italy’s flat steel products grew by 9% year on year to 824,000 tons, and that of long products hiked by 2% year on year to around 1.2 million tons.

In the first five months of this year, Italy produced a total of 9.3 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year growth of 4%. The output of flat steel products increased by 11% year on year to 4 million tons, and that of long products was up by 1.3% year on year to 5.4 million tons.
