Emsteel Group, the largest steel and building materials manufacturer in the UAE, has partnered with technology supplier Danieli to launch the steel industry’s first pilot project for an electric process gas heater (ePGH), reinforcing its leadership in low-emission industrial processes and supporting the region's decarbonization goals. 

The ePGH pilot project substitutes traditional gas-powered heaters with electric ones at Emsteel's DRI facilities, cutting more than 2,200 tons of CO2 emissions each year by utilizing renewable electricity. 

This initiative is a key part of Emsteel's broader low-carbon steel strategy and aligns with its commitment to reduce emissions from steel operations by 40% by 2030.
