Abul Khair Steel Ltd., the largest multi-diversified steel manufacturer in Bangladesh, inked an agreement with Danieli to upgrade its rebar mill in Chittagong.

This project introduces a new wirerod line and integrates automation systems with process controls to broaden the company's product range. Once complete, the facility will produce low-alloy and special steel grades in diameters from 4.5 mm to 25 mm. Also, the upgraded mill features a maximum rolling speed of 110 m/s.

To prevent long operational pauses, the team will execute the work in phases, ensuring the new equipment works with existing systems.

This modernization allows Abul Khair Steel to act as a single-point supplier for various product types. Operations for the upgraded line are scheduled to begin in the second half of this year.
