China’s hand tool exports ease in Feb m-o-m, still double y-o-y

China’s hand tool exports fell to 83,000 tons in February after reaching the second-highest monthly level on record, though the figure was still more than double from a year earlier. Export prices rebounded during the month. In the first two months, total exports reached 190,000 tons, up by 25.86% year-on-year.

In 2025, exports hit a historic high of about 111,000 tons in January before dropping to 40,000 tons in February. Volumes later rebounded to around 93,000 tons in June and 96,000 tons in August, ranking as the fourth and third highest monthly levels on record, respectively. Exports declined to about 78,000 tons in October and recovered to 88,000 tons in December. This January, exports rose to 107,000 tons, the second-highest monthly level.
