China's Benxi Steel (Bengang) has successfully achieved large-scale production of ultra-wide and ultra-thick hot rolled plates with widths of 2,000-2,190 mm and thicknesses of 20-28 mm.

By overcoming technical challenges in rolling stability, shape control, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical property consistency, Bengang has expanded the capability of its 2300mm hot strip mill beyond conventional hot rolling limits.

The products are now being supplied to industries such as new energy equipment and shipbuilding, providing a competitive alternative to traditional heavy plate production.
