Brazil launches AD probe on welded carbon steel pipe imports from China

Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) launched a formal anti-dumping (AD) investigation into welded carbon steel pipes imported from China. The probe addresses allegations that these products injured domestic manufacturers. Confab Industrial S.A. (Tenaris Confab), requested the action.

The investigation targets welded pipes with a circular cross-section, a yield strength under 60 ksi, and a nominal outside diameter equal to or greater than 14" (355.6 mm) but not greater than 48" (1,219.2 mm), regardless of thickness or end type. These products are under tariff codes 7305.11.00, 7305.12.00, 7305.19.00, 7305.31.00, 7305.39.00, 7306.19.00, and 7306.30.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).

The period for the dumping investigation spans from July 2024 to June 2025, and the injury analysis period is from July 2020 through June 2025.
