Baosteel’s export orders rise by 24.8% in H1 2026

Baosteel continued to strengthen its overseas market presence in the first half of 2026, with export orders reaching 4.143 million tons, up 24.8% year-on-year. At the same time, sales of its high-value-added “2+2+N” product portfolio increased by 6.5% to 17.667 million tons, reflecting the company’s continued shift toward higher-end products and international markets.

For the global steel market, the figures are worth watching: as major Chinese mills expand overseas sales while upgrading their product mix, competition in export markets is likely to become increasingly focused on quality, technical capability and value-added products, rather than price alone.
