Baker Hughes: US rig counts hike, Canada’s fall for week ending July 10

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on July 10, 2026, the US rig count was up by one to 581 units compared to the previous week.

Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas kept flat at 126 units, that for oil was also unchanged at 445 units, and miscellaneous rigs rose by one to ten. The total number had a year-on-year rise of 44 units, or 8%.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count fell by eleven to 179 units from the previous week, including 57 gas rigs (down by one week on week), 118 oil rigs (down by 12 week on week), and four miscellaneous rigs (up by two week on week). Canada’s rig number went up by 17 units compared to the same period a year ago.
