Baker Hughes: US rig counts fall, Canada’s rise w-o-w

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on July 11, 2025, the US rig count fell by two to 537 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas remained at 108 units, and that for oil decreased by one to 424 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 47 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count hiked by 11 to 162 units from the previous week, including 112 oil rigs (up by ten week on week) and 50 gas rigs (up by one week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by 27 units compared to the same period a year ago.
