Cokal Limited, an Australian-based coal company, obtained regulatory RKAB approval for its Bumi Barito Mineral Project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The clearance enables the company to resume mining activities by mid-June after completing site preparation and dewatering.

Infrastructure upgrades at Batu Tuhup Jetty proceed with road widening and loading conveyor installations to increase efficiency. Hauling operations restarted, transferring coal to the Krajan jetty stockpile for barging. In addition, a successful first controlled blast at Pit 3 took place on June 4.

Cokal plans an export delivery of 10,000 tons of low-volatile hard coking coal by the end of June. Despite soft global steel demand lowering market prices, structural demand for coking coal remains.

Environmental permits for underground mining developments are expected by the fourth quarter of this year.
