Australia extends due date to publish final report of AD & CVD investigations on hot rolled coil steel from China

On June 19, 2025, the Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia announced it has extended the due date to publish the Statement of Essential Facts, final report, and recommendation to the Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science regarding the anti-dumping (AD) duty and countervailing duty (CVD) investigation for hot rolled coil steel imported from China.

The Commission is expected to complete the final report of the investigation no later than December 10, 2025, and send the final determination to the Ministry no later than February 25, 2026.

It was the request from the domestic steelmaker BlueScope Steel Limited to file the petition to the Anti-Dumping Commission to launch the AD and CVD investiagions on hot rolled coil steel from China, including all thickness of hot-rolled coil and sheet, with or without patterns in relief, whether or not containing alloys, not clad, plated or coated (other than oil coated). 

The HS code for subject products are 7208.10.00.31, 7208.25.00.32, 7208.26.00.33, 7208.27.00.34, 7208.36.00.35, 7208.37.00.36, 7208.38.00.37, 7208.39.00.38, 7208.40.00.39, 7208.53.00.42, 7208.54.00.43, 7208.90.00.30, 7211.14.00.40, 7211.19.00.41, 7225.30.00.17, 7225.40.00.22, 7225.40.00.24, and 7226.91.00.67. 

The investigation period is from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, and the injury investigation period is from October 1, 2020.
