ArcelorMittal Distribución Iberia is building a new steel distribution center at its Villaverde plant in Madrid using low-carbon XCarb® brand steel.

Construction began in March 2024, with the site covering 26,300 square meters. The facility will include advanced processing equipment, such as cutting saws, drills, an oxy-fuel table, and a new shot-blasting and painting facility. The roof of the facility will be equipped with solar panels covering over 1,300 square meters, capable of producing 300 kWp. It will also consolidate operations from the Getafe and Coslada centers.

The new Villaverde hub is expected to start operations in the first quarter of 2026, supporting steel demand in Madrid and nearby regions.
