ArcelorMittal’s Building Solutions business unit will build its North American headquarters and a new manufacturing facility in Bibb County, Georgia, near the Macon airport. The initial project involves an over US$55 million investment creating up to 70 jobs, with an additional US$50 million and 70 more jobs planned for the coming years.

Construction starts later this year, targeting operations by late next year to manufacture insulated panel building envelope systems for warehouses and data centers.

ArcelorMittal Building Solutions’ CEO Jean Christophe Kennel said that the facility addresses strong regional demand and establishes a competitive US presence.

The project expands ArcelorMittal's existing American operations, which employ 3,200 people across nine states. Governor Brian P. Kemp and local officials stated the investment fits Georgia's expanding economic climate.
