AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending May 10 climbs m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending May 10, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.74 million net tons, increasing by 0.9% from the same period a week ago and by 1.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 77.5%, hiking by 0.7% week on week and by 0.6% year on year.

As of the week ending May 10, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 31.066 million short tons, sliding by 0.9% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 74.9%, a year-on-year drop of 1.2%.
