AISI: US raw steel production in week ending July 4 rises w-o-w, y-o-y

According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US domestic raw steel production reached 1.856 million net tons for the week ending July 4, 2026, operating at an 80.4% capability utilization rate. This volume reflected a 4.3% increase compared to the 1.780 million net tons recorded during the corresponding period in 2025, when the utilization rate was at 78.9%.

Weekly output increased slightly by 0.8% from the preceding week ending June 27, 2026, which registered 1.842 million net tons and a 79.8% capability utilization rate.

Adjusted year-to-date production through July 4, 2026, totaled 48.112 million net tons, maintaining a 78.8% capability utilization rate. This total showed a 6.0% hike over the 45.400 million net tons manufactured during the same period last year, when capability utilization was at 76.8%.
