AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Jul 12 grows w-o-w, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending July 12, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.783 million net tons, increasing by 0.1% from the same period a week ago and by 5.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.7%, rising by 0.1 percentage points week on week and by 2.3 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending July 12, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 46.982 million net tons, slightly rising by 0.7% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.1%, a year-on-year drop of 0.1 percentage points.
