Spanish stainless steel manufacturer Acerinox has launched EcoACX®, a new low-carbon stainless steel product designed to meet growing global demand for sustainable materials.
The innovative product maintains the same quality, strength, and corrosion resistance as traditional grades while incorporating 90% recycled content and utilizing 100% renewable energy in its production process. EcoACX® achieves a 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions per ton compared to conventional stainless steel manufacturing, helping both Acerinox and its customers reduce their Scope 3 emissions.
Acerinox has placed EcoACX® at the centre of its “360 Positive Impact” plan, linking the launch to its long-term push for efficient and responsible manufacturing. The company says the product demonstrates how sustainability and high performance can progress together. Headquartered in Spain, Acerinox operates melting shops totaling 3.5 million tons and runs 15 factories worldwide.
