The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia said that it decided to impose a five-year anti-dumping (AD) measure on cold-rolled coils as a result of its investigation, which was launched on January 31 this year, following a petition filed by a domestic producer, Mycron Steel CRC Sdn Bhd. This measure will be valid from September 29, 2023 to September 28, 2028.

According to the result of the probe, the AD duty rate for Nippon Steel Corporation was set at 9.03%, and that for other exporters/producers was 22.62%. Daido Steel Co., Ltd. and JFE Steel Corporation were excluded from the duty imposition due to their minimal dumping margin.

The products involved are cold-rolled products of alloy or non-alloy steel of a thickness from 0.20 mm and 2.60 mm and a width from 700 mm to 1,300 mm. The product scope excludes imported tin mill black plate or cold-rolled coils for automotive, electrical, and electronic end uses.
