EC ends CVD investigation on Turkey's HRC

The Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission said that it has terminated the probe of the countervailing duty (CVD) on imports of hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel (HRC) from Turkey, saying that they found no evidence that subsidies would affect EU’s interest.
The Commission started the review on June 12, 2020 due to the request from the European Steel Association (Eurofer), and the withdrawal request was made on March 24, 2021.
In addition, the import safeguard measure will expire on June 30, so the Commission would see to extend it or not. However, the downstream steel users grouped up to urge the European Commission to not extend the safeguard measure since extending the safeguard measure could bring uncertainty to the market conditions.
