Switzerland’s plan to eliminate import tariffs on industrial goods in 2020

2 Dec 2019 16:10 reported by David Wu

Switzerland is pressing ahead with a plan to eliminate import tariffs on industrial goods to respond to the country’s high prices problem.

The plan was initially presented a year ago and got enthusiastic feedback, so the Switzerland government will submit a draft law to parliament and practice this plan.

The move will allow companies to benefit from lower input costs and therefore enhance profitability, the government said last week. If parliament approved the measure, the change will come into effect in 2022.
