US makes preliminary CVD ruling on corrosion-resistant steel imports from South Korea

According to the preliminary ruling of countervailing duty (CVD) on corrosion-resistant steel imports made by the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), Dongbu Steel received a CVD rate at 7.17%, compared to the final subsidy rate 8.47% set in March this year. The subsidy rate for Hyundai Steel was set at negligible 0.44%, compared to the previous final rate 0.57%. All the other South Korean producers and exporters were was subject to 7.17%, up from the previous final one set at 3.34%. The period of this review covered whole 2017.

Separately, the USDOC didn’t find South Korean corrosion-resistant steels producers and exporters dumping their goods at prices lower than fair value in the US market during the period of review from July 1st, 2017 to June 30th, 2018.
