POSCO announces price hike in stainless steel for Feb

10 Feb 2025 15:25 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
POSCO, a South Korean steel manufacturer, raised its stainless steel prices by 100,000 won per ton for February, applying the increase only to the 300 series.

The company initially considered freezing prices due to market uncertainty and global inflation concerns brought about by Trump's tariff policy, but global price hikes and rising costs led to the adjustment.

The decision shifted after the Lunar New Year holiday as global price strength became evident, influenced by the increase in won/dollar exchange rate and price hikes in Europe, North America, and Taiwan.
