Iranian major steel mills’ exports fall in Feb y-o-y

According to the statistics from Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO), in a month as of February 19th, the exports from major steel mills in Iran reached around 374,000 tons, which dropped by 51% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the exports from Khouzestan Steel Co. (KSC), the largest steel exporter in Iran, were down by 43% year on year to around 159,000 tons. During the same period, Esfahan Steel Co. (ESCO)’s exports also dropped by 32% year on year to 72,000 tons roughly, and the exports from Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) totaled approximately 28,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 84%.
Iranian steel export performance has been was seriously impacted by the economic sanctions resumed by the US since last August.
