According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said yesterday, China’s ten largest steelmakers’ output contributed about 48.1% of the total country’s output in 2010, up by 44.5% in comparison of that in 2009.

It’s known that China targets to produce about 60% of the total steel output from the top 10 companies by the end of 2015, according to the latest 12nd Five-Year plan for the industry.

Also, China has tried to eliminate the small steelmakers since they gain from the strong demand for low-end construction steel products.

At the same time, the government will implement tougher on energy and water utilization, together with new environmental regulations, plus the restrictions unto small smelters.
