According to report of Reuters, Japanese steelmakers will target on other countries, including Russia and Mongolia in the future to lower the reliance on Australia’s coal supply, according to the head of Japan’s steel industry association said today.

It’s known that the recent flood in Australia has tightened the supply and pushed the Asian steelmaker to look out more alternative sources.

It is also said that Japan’s steel industry will source more supplies; however, it may take more than two to three years.

Hence, they will still keep relying on the Australian coal for a while due to the quantity and costs.
